As our business has grown rapidly in both scale and complexity, we are now looking for a hands on, and results orientated Head of Finance.



We are a global marketplace and platform giving creators the tools to manufacture, promote, sell and distribute their own limited-edition apparel through pre-order campaigns (and helping shoppers make better buying decisions in the process).

Our mission is to champion creativity, supporting grassroots creators while reducing the waste in fashion. Think ASOS for the new generation.

We are an ambitious, tight-knit and happy bunch who get together and get stuff done out of our lovely Dalston office (right behind the best coffee shop in London). A typical week involves fruit bowls, team sports, trips to the pub and free-lunch Fridays. ✌️🌱

Job description

Your main responsibilities will include setting up the finance department, implementing a sustainable financial planning and performance analytics.

The successful candidate will be in charge of developing the financial planning function with responsibilities ranging from day to day financial operations and ROI analysis, through to long-term business strategy.

As a senior manager in the business, your role will play a significant part in contributing to our growth, comfortable to both support the team and the senior stakeholders.

You will be managing a team of 2 (a Finance Assistant and a part-time Finance Controller), and will include hiring as required.

Your Duties:

Financial Planning and Business Analysis

  • Follow-up of retail activities, KPI’s and financial operations to ensure consistent reporting between the company and third parties

  • Control and forecast cash and cost management and maintain banking relationships

  • Manage the business in the control of working capital

  • Preparation of regular and ad-hoc analysis, reporting and presentations for Investor Relations, the CEO and the Board

Accounting and financial operations

  • Reconcile monthly management accounts and ensure the integrity of transactional processing

  • Ensure the integrity of balance sheet controls

  • Handle payments, payroll and other related administrative tasks

  • Manage year-end closing, financial reporting and audits

  • Assist the accounting agency in the preparation of books and files for audit and declaration of VAT and payroll taxes, including compliance with payment deadlines

  • Ensure the compliance with all business taxation requirements

  • Invoice approval and maintenance of monthly invoice procedures and sub department support to ensure accuracy and consistency within the management accounts

Your Skills:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a least 2/3 years post qualification experience in a high-growth environment

  • Ability to wear many hats, particularly in the first 6 months whilst building processes and best practice

  • Comfortable working within a startup environment that moves incredibly quickly

  • Comprehensive experience of financial modelling, planning, forecasting in line with the marketplace mode

Bonus Experience

  • Previous use of XERO

  • Experience within a marketplace environment

  • Experience or exposure to VC/PE backed businesses

  • Experience leading and building the Finance function within a rapidly growing startup, understanding how to navigate the challenges of scaling from Seed to Series A, B and beyond
